Created in 1975 by blending full-fat milk with crème fraîche, it features several distinct characteristics:
- Texture: Velvet-like, rich, and spreadable—very similar to whipped cream.
- Flavor: Buttery and mildly sweet with a slight lactic tang. It has a thin, snowy-white edible rind that gives off a savory, mushroom-like aroma.
- Fat Content: It is classified as a triple-cream cheese, meaning it contains at least 75% butterfat in dry matter.
